KINGDOM MEN'S LEADERSHIP RETREAT COMMUNIQUE

KINGDOM MEN had a Leadership Retreat last weekend in Lagos. At the end of the six-sessions of teaching, prayers and worship, a 10-point Communique on the state of our nation and the role of men in it was issued. The programme, ironically, held at the Women's Development Centre, Ogba, Agege, Lagos, Nigeria.

The Communique signed by the ministry's Chief Vision Steward, REMI AKANO reads:

COMMUNIQUE AT THE END OF A TWO-DAY LEADERSHIP RETREAT
KINGDOM MEN (KMEN), A MINISTRY TO MEN
HELD BETWEEN FRIDAY FEBRUARY 21 AND SATURDAY 22, 2014
AT THE WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, OGBA, IKEJA, LAGOS

At the end of the two-day intensive and interactive session which featured prayer, praise and worship, six sessions of teaching and discussions on issues affecting men, the home, society, the church, our nation and the larger global trends concerning manhood and Christ-likeness, the leadership of KINGDOM MEN gathered for the programme observed, concluded and declared as follows (see below):

1.   That as Nigeria marks its centenary as a country it is indisputable that the nation is NOT fulfilling its destiny in the comity of nations in spite of the vast human, natural and other resources God has placed at our disposal;

Remi Akano
Dennis Onwuegbu

Popoola Adams

2.   That the problem is that of MEN because men are accountable to God for the running of His Kingdom here on earth as is clear from the Bible book of Genesis and have therefore been predominant in leadership globally;3.   That the nation therefore has a “men problem”. In other words, men are the problem and men are the solution. So, if we get it right with the men, Nigeria (and the world at large) would be a better place for all to live in;

Ade Situ
Yet, scant attention is paid to the subject of what it means to be a man, as God intended men to be. Ministry to Men is therefore relatively young within the Church in Nigeria – non-existent in many churches; widely misunderstood in most;

    It is in pursuit of the objective of filling this identified gap and to join hands with others of like minds so that the men in Nigeria might begin to take godly charge of the society that God originally committed to their hand that KINGDOM MEN has been founded;

6.   KINGDOM MEN believes that Jesus Christ is the best example of leadership – dependable, faithful, other-centred, strong, effective, humble and love-driven, and therefore we are committed to help raise and disciple Chirstlike men;

Wale Oni
Segun Alabi and Segun Oyebola

 7.           KMEN plans to pursue this goal through a Bible study, accountability and discipleship programme, regular men’s events, including Breakfast meetings, luncheons/dinners targeted at special groups such as legislators and other politicians, the military, academics etc and conferences featuring national and international ministers and leaders of character;
Dinner Break

8.   In this connection, the first international men’s conference, KINGDOM MEN MEGA SUMMIT is planned to hold between May 8 and 10, 2014 in Lagos and it shall feature Texas, USA-based Rev Dr Larry Titus, a global mentor of men who has been in ministry for over 50 years and whose Kingdom Global Ministries runs an effective  Men’s Discipleship programme. There will be other notable speakers.

Breaking Bread
9.   KMEN also believes that to fix the nation, the Church has a major role to play; for the Church to succeed, families must be fixed; to fix families, we must fix marriages and to fix marriages, we must begin with the men. So, the ministry is putting in place programmes directed at the Church, families and marriages.

10.               KMEN invites all churches, ministries and all men and women who of goodwill to partner with us in the pursuit of these Spirit-driven, God-glorifying and society-building goals.

HOW JESUS HANDLED AUTHORITY...The Ninth Leadership Principle of Jesus

You've heard it said before: leadership confers power and authority. But who exercises it and how? Dr Larry Titus offers a glimpse into how the Lord Jesus handled power and authority in this 5-minute teaching on the 12 Leadership Principles of Jesus.

The Ministry…The Vision

My photo
KINGDOM MEN
KINGDOM MEN is an uncompromisingly Bible-based, independent ministry to men. It is a kingdom institution established to assist men, irrespective of their church affiliations, in their Christian walk, that they may become better sons, brothers, husbands, fathers and leaders. Its objective is to raise and disciple men, who will in turn raise and disciple other men, in an unbroken chain of victory and godly prosperity. KMEN’s methodology includes small group Bible study and other programmes and events addressing issues that men confront in their day-to-day living - issues that are denomination-blind. KMEN’s vision is to raise men who are conscious of their status as sons of God, with a divine mandate to establish His will on earth; men who manifest the divine nature, imparted to them by their Father, at home, in the workplace and in society at large; men in whom Christlikeness is visible everywhere and at all times.
